Welcome to Schnoodle.net- Schnoodle Resource Page

Schnoodles are sometimes referred to as 'designer dogs' because they are not a pure bred but a cross between a Schnauzer and a Poodle. The Schnoodle hybrid is not yet recognised as a breed by the dog breeding organizations and strictly speaking is a mongrel.

Schnoodles have been gaining in popularity because of their non-shedding fur which make them ideal for people that may have allergies. Schnoodles are relatively easy to train and because of their hybrid nature are very resistance to common dog diseases.

Depending on the cross, Schoodles can have a white, black, grey, brown or golden color. The Schoodle hair type can be either a wiry hair type of the Schnauzer or the softer hair type of the Poodle, depending on the cross. Schoodles vary in size and most breeders match the sizes of the parent Schnauzer and Poodle, however the most popular combination is a cross of a Miniature Poodle and a Miniature Schnauzer.

The best bred Schnoodles mix the intelligence of a Poodle and the loyalty of a Schnauzer. Schnoodles make excellent companions and they are easily trained.

Notable Schnoodle owners are Dakota Fanning and Claire Danes.
